Dear Patient,

I am writing to let you know I will be retiring October 31, 2013. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for allowing me to be your doctor.

I became a doctor because I wanted to help people. I now realize that I gained more from my patients than they have from me. Even after all of these years, I am in awe of the trust that my patients place in me. Truly, it has been a great honor to be your doctor.

As you probably know the life of a medical student, resident, and obstetrician gynecologist is full of night and day work. As I have scaled back over the last few years I have rediscovered long forgotten parts of myself that I lost in the long hours of work. Now I feel a strong need to reclaim these parts of myself before I am too old to enjoy them.

It has been very difficult for me to decide to say goodbye and retire. I know that the relationship between doctor and patient that develops over years is special.

The doctors and nurse practitioners of Complete Women’s Care will provide you with the excellent care that you deserve. We have hired a new physician, Dr. Melissa Singer Buchberg to replace me starting January, 2014. If you would like my assistance choosing a new CWC provider please send me an email through our confidential Patient Portal on our website, www.completewomenscare.net and I will do my best to help you.

One of my goals in retirement is to help women become healthier through nutrition and lifestyle change. I have heard loud and clear that many of you want help. To this end, I will be participating in and organizing community programs promoting health. If you would like to stay in contact to find out what is happening please join me at my blog http://goodforyou-drkennedy.tumblr.com/ .

I will continue seeing patients as usual until the end of October. If I do not see you before my retirement date, please accept my thanks, my apology for leaving, and my very best wishes for you.
